Five Families

Our office has seen five families in the last week living in their vehicles.

All single moms. All with at least three children; one with as many as six. One thing in common: their address is wherever they parked that night.

These mamas are tired. They are worn. They are cried-out. They are experiencing something that no one should ever have to go through. They are caring for our most vulnerable population, children, while bearing the weight of the world on their shoulders.

They shuffle from the laundry mat, to the library, to the parking lot of a grocery store to provide their children with the basic resources they need like clean clothes, internet, and bathroom access. The life they lead is nomadic, but the word ‘home’ invokes tears that they thought surely would’ve dried up by now to come flowing down their cheeks.

The Ministry Center is where our staff team and the lives of these families intersect to work toward a common goal. This is a place where we can dream together. We dream of bedrooms filled with personal belongings, a mailbox with a street address on it, or a refrigerator to simply open up and take food from inside. Jesus meets us there in those dreams and we are reminded of how He can take our dreams and make something beautiful of them.

All, at the Ministry center.
