We're relocating

Dear Friends,

Conway Ministry Center is facing major upcoming changes - and we want you to hear about them from me first. God has done some incredible things throughout this and we know He has a plan for what is next for us.

When we consider the past year, we are in awe of the breadth of God's sovereignty and provision.

It is true that 2020 has challenged this ministry in ways we never could have planned for. But in the midst of it all, something deep and rich has been developing.

For our staff, volunteers, and supporters, we have all had to consider the cost of following Christ into uncharted waters. We have seen and continue to see record numbers of families in crisis. Record numbers of families in need of food. Record numbers of homelessness in our city. COVID-19 has had a huge impact on families that were already at risk. We have also come face-to-face with the nagging questions of personal health and safety, as well as a struggling economy.

But in this season, the Church in our community is rising from the ashes of pandemic to love, serve, give, and trust.

We believe that no group is more equipped, more divinely empowered, more called to love our neighbors in crisis than God's people. We were planted in this city in this season for such a time as this.

In this season, God is leading us into uncharted territory once again.

Our facility at 701 Polk Street, where Second Baptist Church has hosted our ministry for over six years, has been sold. We have been notified that we need to relocate no later than December 31.

We have been searching for an appropriate location to house all of our ministry services and programs in the mean time. Our hope has been to identify a permanent location where we can continue all that we do now and gain approval to build an emergency homeless shelter in the near future. We believe we may have found a suitable property, but we are still in the earliest stages of working through the details.

While we could not have imagined a building campaign and relocation during a global pandemic and economic uncertainty, God chose this winter to launch us into our future. We stand firm on the knowledge that God is ever faithful, ever loving, and has perfect timing.

He loves the families we serve more than we could fathom and He has a beautiful plan.

We all remain powerfully called to the great work He has prepared for us and will keep you updated. Please continue to pray for us during this transition.
